Photo Restoration Project 2

Second picture of my mother-in-law, Helen. Just like the first one it was ruined: it was stored with other photos, they got wet and stuck together. After separating them, parts of the photo were damaged by water, other parts were lost.

Rubber stamp seems to be my best friend here again. Photo seems brighter then the original, probably because of the different color profiles at home and at work and conversion between the two. I will adjust overall brightness of the image at the end.

The next three big things that will have to be fixed are: the shoe [it will be the hardest I think, since it is totally destroyed,] left side of the dress [a lot of little things to fix there, very tedious] and the legs [some parts are too dark, black almost.]

Here I thought of using rubber stamp with different opacity, which allowed me to fix the brightness on the knees fairly easy. The dress wasn't that hard to do either, I had to select the dark parts of it, play with brightness and color controls. I still have to darken the whole image overall add the shoe and fix the background. I'm thinking about scanning a different photo and just copying a shoe from there...

This photo was also found later on, right before I finished this project. I was very glad because I had no idea what to do with that missing shoe and the found photo was of much better quality anyway.
